Why Metacognition & Problem Solving?

 Technology is often regarded as the mechanism for creating more personalized learning for students. Some leaders are challenged to identify how to prepare educators to integrate technology successfully. We must work to support how educators the ways in which they integrate technology int o learning environments.  

 

Many of today’s devices should be used to move beyond accessing the internet, or using technology to engage learners in rote-memory activities.  Ruben R. Puentadura’s SAMR Model helps to facilitate teachers’ understanding of how technology can be used in differentiated ways. Puentadura and the Technology Integration Matrix from the University of Florida both emphasize how educators must continually review how they define learning and design learning environments to achieve learner-centered experiences.
