Maximizing Learning Environments

It’s official-- I’ve moved into the realm of technology coordination.  Despite being fresh in my new role as a high school instructional technology coordinator, I’ve been fortunate enough to receive some productive feedback and I’ve taken time to step back and critically reflect on my new role and the person I aim to be in this new capacity.  A large part of this new role is to facilitate the implementation of our Stevenson’s Mobile Academic Real-Time Technology (SMART) Program, a 1:1 iPad program.

I’ve quickly learned some significant things when it comes to adult professional learning and specifically preparing educators to think differently about instruction with increased access to mobile technologies.  I challenge anyone who works with adult learners to think more deeply about how they work with faculty and staff.

I've created an iBook (see right), that  provides a short overview of things we have learned midway through our first year of our 1:1 iPad program and the basic instructional considerations we believe are significant when integrating a 1:1 iPad program.  And let it be fully acknowledged, there is more to come!

Adlai E. Stevenson SMART Program

With the iPad, tudents and teachers are able to produce content that highlights their learning and communicate a powerful message through different mediums.

Collaboration & Professional Learning

More than ever before students and teachers are able to produce content that highlights their learning and communicate a powerful message through different mediums.  With 1:1 iPads our students and teachers are modernizing learning and building success for the future.  These are just some of our educator's reflections.
